1:10…the first flat forehand I’ve seen in the Pro Tour in ages.

  • By dazza2708, July 29, 2010 @ 6:07 pm

Holy shit look how far round her forehand grip is. Her backhand grip is strange too. Plays them well though.

@bfdlt33 haha I agree with you.I fed up with all these pro-critics.

  • By porta123stella, July 29, 2010 @ 7:43 pm

@bfdlt33 Don’t you know any tennis players? They are ALL ego… 99% of tennis players, of all kinds and all levels have a huge ego… My mother (huge ego there too) was a tennis player and she wanted me to play, so I started and I still play, but I really don’t like tennis players. I like to play but I don’t like the fact that many tennis players are so selfish and full of themselves. They always cheat or don’t respect the opponent, and think they’re like Roger Federer playing at Wimbledon

    I love Mauresmo’s play.

I will miss you mauresmo……….too bad that both safina nd mauresmo ended their career this year……..even more sad for momo cause she didn’t get a proper send off………… 🙁

  • By Nerderline, July 29, 2010 @ 9:26 pm

along with henin ofcourse…….i used to find mauresmo’s BH awkward when i initially saw it but now its one of the beautiful shots in WTA that ever was…………….but now sadly we won’t be seeing it anymore…………

  • By orbitalwarrior, July 29, 2010 @ 10:01 pm

god, that’s so true! if there is anyone on tour who’s got great technique, it’s mauresmo (and henin of course).

  • By bfdlt33, July 29, 2010 @ 10:52 pm

I really get a kick out of all the hacks out there analyzing a pro’s strokes and technique……………..tell me how much you all have made on the circuit ?????

do you guys maybe earn your cash coaching some of the pros ??

maybe you write for tennis magazine ??
ego, ego, ego…everyone thats 4.5 or better seems to have it.

course maybe amelie will take all your advice and win a couple more slams.

    losers !

  • By isafany, July 30, 2010 @ 12:13 am

I love Momo!! 😀 She’s the only womens player today who’s game I like. Such variety in her shots while all the other women are carbon copys of each other 😛 ..I hope she can make a good comeback.

  • By xxRebelxxFitz, July 30, 2010 @ 1:08 am

I love how she ALWAYS has a matching scrunchie XD

  • By Tennisonehandwonder, July 30, 2010 @ 1:35 am

Reason she has a short follow through is due to her Extreme grip on the backhand side , also its a faster surface so she doesnt have the time she needs to follow through completely, just blocking the ball back

  • By teh5o, July 30, 2010 @ 2:21 am

well weight does… but not past a certain point which they well excede.

  • By laperdepaperhond312, July 30, 2010 @ 3:06 am

that would be stupid and not logical cause you’re weight doesn’t matter in tennis

  • By JL6293, July 30, 2010 @ 3:29 am

Well…I take back some of that, the forehand follow through is adequate. I might’ve been nit-picking on one of two shots on the vid that she shortened it. the backhand though could still get used to a very long and flowing follow through.

  • By JL6293, July 30, 2010 @ 3:59 am

The only thing I can say that is wrong with her game is the follow through of her strokes, all of them except for her slice backhand. Her forehand and backhand (topspin) both need to have a much larger follow through. You can see that she exagerates the “no follow-through” plan on her backhands, which she stops short almost immediately after the swing. If she develops a better follow through, she would have better control of racket head speed and let it rip with more control than she does now.
